Clergy and lay people will find a wealth of ideas, tips, and discussion starters to help parents and godparents make informed and committed choices on behalf of their infant or young child.

Christ's Own Forever is a unique resource developed with the varying needs of Episcopal communities of all sizes in mind. Flexible session plans are ideal for both one-on-one conversations with parents or meetings that include several families together.

Includes background on baptism and Christian initiation, as well as guidance on preparation for baptism in the Episcopal Church today. Guidance is provided for preparation and follow-up with parents who are parish members and those who are unchurched.

Mary Lee received a MTS from Bangor Theological Seminary with a focus on Congregational Life.

"Mary Lee Wile has written a wonderful resource for baptismal preparation. Christian educators and clergy will find the resource most helpful for both parents and godparents. In fact, the whole congregation can benefit from using this excellent material." - Janie Stevens, Christian Education Director, Episcopal Diocese of Texas

"A rich compendium of theological reflection and pastoral experience, Christ's Own Forever is the preparation leader's main course, not to be tasted and nibbled, but read, marked, learned and inwardly digested." - Rev. Richard Bamforth, Retired Priest and Author

"Wile has offered concrete and practical ideas as well as pastoral, liturgical and educational suggestions for parish clergy and lay leadership in preparing parents and godparents who desire to have their child baptized in the Episcopal Church. She provides a framework for personal reflection and small group conversation that will allow a faith community to support parents and extended families. Most importantly, she engages Baptismal sponsors in exploring their own understanding of the responsibilities of being a Christian parent or godparent, and how this role is a life-long journey with the newly baptized." - Sharon Pearson, Christian Formation Specialist, Diocese of Connecticut
