How do we develop the resilience that empowers us to be ourselves in the face of change?

How do we learn to be courageous when days are difficult? How do we build our capacity for healing and growth when we can no longer do the things we once did that gave our lives satisfaction, meaning, and purpose?

Building Resilience offers a path toward creativity in responding to change in your life, regaining some control over your circumstances, and overcoming feelings of helplessness. Whether you’re 17 or 75, if life has thrown you a curve ball, this book can help you get on track toward being yourself in your new normal. With a foreword by Stephanie Spellers.

“In a time of chaos and uncertainty on so many levels, this book is exactly what we need. Building Resilience gives insightful and practical steps to grow in the midst of challenge. It is an integrated approach for the journey and discovers joy and hope along the way.”—Sr. Simone Campbell, SSS, leader of NETWORK Lobby and Nuns on the Bus, author of Hunger for Hope

“Alice Scannell has written the book for these times—a practical guide to holy and intentional living. What else is the spiritual life if not the path of radical resilience? Building Resilience is a call to holiness and a new way of envisioning abundant life.” —Mark Bozzuti-Jones, Trinity Wall Street, New York

“Alice Updike Scannell lived a life in the spirit of Christian formation. Her compassion and concern for the elderly was one that informed, encouraged, and empowered others along their journey. Building Resilience is a must-have that addresses the challenges of life and the navigation of the emotional, spiritual, and physical changes—the culmination of a life well-lived.”—Laura V.
